Lake Geneva — The Lake Geneva TacoFest is set to return for its fifth year this September, bringing three days of food, music, and family entertainment to the Lake Geneva House of Music.
The festival runs Sept. 12 through 14 and will feature dozens of vendors competing for the Best Taco award, along with live music, cultural performances, contests and family-friendly attractions.
Christopher Buttleman, owner of the Lake Geneva House of Music and founder of TacoFest, said the event has grown into a community tradition.
“When we started this festival, our goal was simple: to celebrate great food and bring people together with music,” Buttleman said. “Five years later, it has become a true highlight of the year in Lake Geneva.”
A Weekend Lineup
Entertainment will include mariachi performances, local and regional musicians, and a variety of family activities such as piñatas, a Chihauhau Beauty Contest and pepper-eating contests. A lowrider car show is also planned, alongside fire-breathing exhibitions and other live acts.
Friday evening features a performance by RICO, A Tribute to Santana, while Saturday includes a lowrider show in the afternoon and the hot pepper eating contest in the evening. Brew City Wrestling brings Lucha Libre–style wrestling to the festival grounds Friday from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
“We want this to be more than a food event,” Buttleman said. “It’s about creating an atmosphere—where families can spend the day, hear great music, and enjoy something that feels both local and unique.”
The event will also feature traditional Mexican dancing from the Dance Academy of Mexico. Friday and Saturday evening a DJ will perform inside of the venue.
Tickets and Admission
General admission is $10 in advance for Friday, $12.50 in advance for Saturday, and free on Sunday. Children 6–12 are admitted for $5 in advance or $7.50 at the gate; children under 6 enter free. Parking is free throughout the weekend.

Lake Geneva TacoFest takes place at the Lake Geneva House of Music, N3241 County Road H. Festival hours are 4–9 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m.–9 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m.–3 p.m. Sunday.
